One such event is the championship fight between James J. Corbett and Peter Black Prince Jackson held at Athletic Park (currently known as Nash Park) on May 21, 1891. This was one of the most famous boxing matches in American history. The parks grandstand was filled with spectators who came to watch two great fighters go headtohead for hours until Corbett finally emerged victorious.
