Amarillo, TX: The Best Places to Explore Major League Sports with a Southern Twist

Amarillo, Texas is a beautiful city with plenty of history and culture. Its also home to some of the most exciting major league sports teams in the country. From football to baseball and everything in between, Amarillo has it all.

First up is the Amarillo Sod Poodles (715 S Buchanan St), an AA minor league baseball team affiliated with MLBs Arizona Diamondbacks. Their name comes from a nickname for prairie dogs, one of the areas famous critters that are known for popping out of their holes like popcorn kernels! Watching them play at Hodgetown Stadium is always a fun experience. Fans come out sporting hats shaped like prairie dog heads and enjoy classics such as Cracker Jacks while cheering on their favorite players.

Next up are the West Texas A&M Buffaloes (2501 4th Ave Canyon). This college football team plays at Buffalo Stadium on campus and has been playing since early 1900s but didnt join NCAA until relatively recently; now theyre ranked among Division II programs around America including playoff runs every few years or so!

If hockey is more your thing then youll want to check out our own Amarillo Bulls (901 South Buchanan Street) who compete in NAHL Junior Hockey League against other U.S. based teenaged kids after high school here games often have soldout crowds despite winter weather conditions!
