This scenic park runs alongside the river for 23 miles and offers hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, and even horseback riding. Along with its natural beauty think incredible views of rolling hills covered in oak trees youll also likely encounter locals enjoying picnics or socializing at one of several gathering areas spread throughout the parkway.

Another great spot to check out is Hagan Community Park (2197 Chase Dr). Beyond its familyfriendly amenities like playgrounds and sports fields, Hagan includes walking trails through wetlands teeming with wildlife such as ducks and geese. Be sure to bring your binoculars!

If youre interested in seeing some larger animals up close then head over to Soil Born Farms American River Ranch Center (2140 Chase Dr.). Here you can take a guided farm tour where they grow tons of organic produce using sustainable practices. You might see chickens scratching about or catch sight of rabbits darting into burrows.
